This has more to do with traditional media than with Internet and social media, but since we discussed traditional media, media empires and power (Italy and Silvio Berlusconi) at yesterdays lecture I think the story of the recent bankrupcy of Canada's biggest media empire, Canwest Global Communications, could be of interest. A tale of what happens when you overextend and buy up smaller companies right, left and center.
