Filter Bubble

Writing last week's assignment reminded me a concept of Filter Bubble. Eli Pariser, author of the book "The Filter Bubble", presents his idea in TED:

It really makes you think, if all this personalization we are having now is such a good thing afterall. Especially when you even do not realize anymore how much information do not reach you anymore because you were interested in different thing in the past. Actually when you think more it seems like a good intention. Social media (and web in general) trying to help you with information overload, by showing only relevant information. But in the end what we get is tunnel vision.

  1. I've heard good things about Pariser's book from different (trustworthy) persons. I Will probably buy it and read it myself.
